Why has Network Marketing become so popular?
One of the reasons for it’s ‘rise to fame’ is the increase in people’s desire for a ‘better lifestyle’.
In recent decades, and especially through the 1980’s, people were focussed primarily on wealth creation – owning their own car, their own house, and any other assets just to ‘out-do’ their neighbours. Just because the Jones's had something, everybody else had to have the same thing. And this attitude is still a dominant feature of western society.
Lately, however, with concerns about health, crime, the safety of our kids, pollution, the environment and traffic chaos, people have started to think about improving their lifestyles. We’re starting to see a drift towards a ‘lifestyle culture’.
What do we mean by this?
Well, people are more concerned about spending more time with the family and having a better work-life balance. Even to the extent of moving out of the big cities and escaping the ‘Rat Race’, to take less demanding jobs in smaller towns and rural areas. Thousands are also giving up full time employment to experiment with the freedom of self-employment.
People are actively searching for more flexibility in their life and for more freedom, and this is where Network Marketing comes into play.
It ‘fits in’ with people’s requirements. It allows you to work when and where you want to, and encourages personal empowerment. It has the power to motivate and reward, far beyond that of a normal ‘9 to 5’ job because you are working for yourself, not the boss. As a result, you are your own boss, and it gives you the power to change your life... if you really want to.
In fact, it offers all the virtues of a lifestyle culture, and so much more...
Network Marketing is here to stay.
You have to realise from the outset though, that MLM is a sales business. As in any other type of business, traditional or otherwise, the most important function is sales & marketing, for without this you have no revenue, and without revenue there can be no profit.
However, when done properly, MLM can be fun - to the point that it doesn't feel like selling!
Good distributors will show you ways to work the business that you find comfortable, and you'll also have something in common with the other distributors that you meet - you're all self-motivated, positive individuals working towards similar goals - because you're all working for yourselves!
All you have to do is get involved – just make sure you do your research and choose the right company…
